Indoors: Go roller skating at the new House of Skate

Calgary has a new destination for roller skating. House of Skate opened in the Highfield district in southeast Calgary over the winter and offers drop-in skate sessions as well as lessons.

Outdoors: Rosé and Croquet

This annual fundraiser for YW Calgary is a garden party extraordinaire held on the grounds of the Deane House restaurant in Inglewood. Along with the titular lawn game, the event includes premium wines and cocktails, fancy canapés and fabulous fashions, with a prize for the best hat. This year’s festivities happen on June 20.

Plan Ahead: Shop for Stampede Outfits

Western-inspired dress is a huge part of the Calgary Stampede experience and it’s never too early to start seeking out cool pieces to wear at this year’s Stampede, which kicks off July 5. Local shops like Smithbilt Hats, Alberta Boot Company and Cody & Sioux offer western wear all year round, while many thrift and vintage stores bring out seasonal offerings as Stampede approaches.

Now or Never: Calgary Stampeders Home Opener

On June 7, show your support for Calgary’s CFL team during its 2024 season home opener against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Arrive at McMahon Stadium early to get a spiked lemonade and a Pocket Dawg before the game starts.

Free: Lilac Festival

Calgarians turn out in droves for this annual street festival that runs along 4th Street S.W. On June 2, expect hundreds of vendors and performances from Elbow Drive S.W. all the way to 12th Avenue S.W.
