Indoors: The Dada Ball at Contemporary Calgary

An incredible night of art, fashion and fundraising, Contemporary Calgary’s annual gala returns as The Dada Ball on May 25. Tickets are available now for what is usually the party of the year for the local glitterati.

 

Outdoors: Inglewood Night Market

The first Inglewood Night Market of the season is on May 10. The outdoor market in one of the city’s coolest inner-city communities features 135 artisans and businesses, as well as live music and a beer garden. Admission is free.

Now or Never: See the international premiere of Beaches the Musical

Theatre Calgary ends its 2023-24 season with the international premiere of Beaches the Musical from May 18 to June 16. Based on the Iris Rainer Dart novel about a 30-year friendship, the production was composed by Grammy winner Mike Stoller and directed by Tony nominee, Lonny Price.

 

Free: Explore Calgary on a Jane’s Walk

Named after urbanist and activist Jane Jacobs, Jane’s Walks are free guided walking tours staged on the first weekend in May all over the world to encourage citizens to engage with their surroundings. Choose from a variety of Calgary walks from May 3 to 5.
