If you need a little more fun in your life, PowerPlay has you covered.

The new 80,000-square-foot entertainment centre in Southcentre Mall is all about high-tech and interactive experiences. PowerPlay is home to 16 bowling lanes, 10 micro cinemas, augmented reality game rooms, golf and baseball simulators and an arcade. There’s also a restaurant and bar area where you can chow down on everything from Korean fried chicken and sliders to pizza and prawn pesto linguini.

If that weren’t enough, guests can expect even more cool attractions at the venue in 2025. Stay tuned for more details on the addition of a laser tag arena, a Starbucks location, a hidden speakeasy and even a rooftop patio.

Whether you’re just popping in to see a movie or want to make a day of it by trying out multiple activities, the sprawling venue is an exciting and fun-filled addition to Calgary’s entertainment scene. Look for it on Southcentre Mall’s third floor in the former Sears space.

PowerPlay is home to 10 micro cinemas, which offer a more intimate movie experience with fewer seats. Those who want a snack to enjoy with their movie can take advantage of the in-seat dining service or grab a bite at the self-serve concession area (which is still being finished right now). The cinemas boast high-tech features like Barco Series 4 laser projectors and JBL premium sound systems.

Take a break between activities at PowerPlay’s main dining area, which has tons of seating and a bar. The restaurant offers something for everyone with dishes like Korean fried chicken, sliders, pizza, smash burgers, prawn pesto linguini and more. There’s also a small kids’ menu for those ages 12 and under.

The venue is home to Canada’s first Immersive Gamebox experience. In these rooms, players don headpieces (similar to hats or visors) to play augmented reality games ranging from Angry Birds to Temple of Coins on the walls. The three rooms can accommodate two to six players each.
