How to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Calgary

This year, you can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with brunch at the Calgary Zoo, a beer maker’s dinner and, of course, by drinking green beer at local pubs.

As part of the weekly Safari Sunday Brunch, the Calgary Zoo is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day themed brunch on Sunday, March 20. The menu will feature Irish dishes like shepherd’s pie and a Guiness-braised beef stew, alongside classic brunch favorites like Belgian waffles and eggs benedict. Tickets are $27.95 for children and $44.95 for adults, which includes admission to the zoo grounds.

St. Patricks Day Beer Tasting at Co-op Wines Spirits Beer

Happening at the Shawnessy and Crowfoot locations, Co-op Wines Spirits Beer is holding a beer tasting event in celebration of St. Patricks Day. Starting at 7 p.m. and running until 9 p.m., you will get to taste a number of different barley-based beverages from the Emerald Isle and beyond. Tickets are $40.

Beer Maker’s Diner at Deerfoot Inn and Casino

The Wild Horse Pub at Deerfoot Inn and Casino is hosting a beer maker’s dinner, featuring a four-course meal, each paired with a brew from local Banded Peak Brewing. This dinner is held on March 17 starting at 7 p.m. and tickets are $67.

Paws Dog Daycare St. Patrick’s Day Photo Booth

As part of a collaboration with Born Brewing Co., Paws Dog Daycare has set up a St. Patrick’s Day photo booth for your pet. Part of the promotion includes a social media contest, where you can win a growler of your choice from Born Brewing Co. by sharing a photo of your furry friend.

Irish Beer and Cheese Tasting at Willow Park Wines and Spirits

On March 16, Willow Park Wines and Spirits invites you to enjoy a night of Irish beers and cheeses. Hosted by Dave “the beer guy” Gingrich, resident beer expert at Willow Park Wines and Spirits, this night will let you experience Irish exports past the typical pint of Guinness. Green garments are encouraged. Tickets for the event are $35 and it runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
