Miracle on First Street at Proof

When: November 15 to December 24

Calgary’s Miracle pop-up, known as Miracle on First Street, has been taking place at Proof since 2018. Now, Proof is back with another year of Christmas decor, drinks and music. Stop in to try cocktails like the Christmapolitan, Rudolph’s Replacement and The Krampus.

With Bells On

When: November 28 to December 17

A mild-mannered accountant and a drag queen get stuck in an elevator together — need we say more? Lunchbox Theatre’s holiday comedy With Bells On promises plenty of laughs and heart as it returns to the stage where it was originally developed. Catch one of the performances (you can go during your lunch break!) in Studio at Vertigo Theatre.

Wild Canada

When: Wild Canada opens December 1

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is getting some new residents this month. Starting December 1, the zoo will be the new home of Baffin and Siku, two polar bears from Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park Zoo. The pair will reside in the brand new polar bear habitat, which is part of the zoo’s redeveloped Canadian Wilds experience now known as Wild Canada. The redeveloped experience also features renovated habitats for several animals ranging from whooping cranes to bighorn sheep.

Legacy Lights 2023

When: December 1, 2023 to January 14, 2024

Grab the family, hop in the car and head to the southern community of Legacy to view this free annual light show. Put on by the Legacy Residents Association, the holiday display features more than a million lights adorning sculptures, trees and show homes around the community. There’s also an ice rink (weather permitting) and light tunnel.

Vend Urban Market

When: December 2

Pick up a treat for yourself or shop for your friends and family at Vend Market’s holiday edition this weekend. There will be vendors selling candles, quilts, jewellery, art and more. Admission is free.
