The 2024 list of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants has officially been revealed, and while Calgary had a less prestigious showing than usual, the city’s dining scene does make a few notable appearances on the list.

This year, four Calgary restaurants made the 100 Best Restaurants list: River Café (#23), Eight (#25), D.O.P. (#46) and Major Tom (#52). This is a drop from previous years, when seven Calgary restaurants made the list in 2023 and 11 made the list in 2022. All four restaurants also appeared on Avenue‘s 2024 list of the Best Restaurants in Calgary.

Only one other Alberta restaurant, Canmore’s Änkôr, also made this year’s list of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants, coming in at #76.

No Alberta restaurants made the 2024 list for Canada’s Best New Restaurants. The province fared a bit better on the 2024 list of Canada’s Best Bars, which includes popular Calgary spots like Proof (#10), Missy’s This That (#13), Rain Dog Bar (#30) and Paper Lantern (#44). Three Edmonton bars also made the list.
