Every year, the Made in Alberta Awards shares the stories of local entrepreneurs and their products with Avenue readers. In the spirit of growing the local food economy, this year the awards partnered with Uproot Food Collective — a scalable, commercialization platform and marketplace that supports more than 80 local food processors, chefs and restaurants to develop and scale retail-ready products in Alberta — to bring those stories straight to your door with the Made in Alberta Awards 2021 Winners and Runners-up curated food box.
The latest Made in Alberta Awards food box features six sweet and savoury delights, including Beverage Bombs (Overall Grand Prize Winner and Non-Alcoholic Drink Winner), Alchemist Honey Blackened Garlic Vinegar from Tippa (Savoury Food Runner-up), Amazing Dad’s BBQ Sauce from Honey Bunny, a four-pack of Waffle Pucks from Cookie Crumbs (Sweet Food Winner), Haskap Jam from Preserved (Sweet Food Runner-up) and Totally Awesome Cookie Mix from Confetti Sweets (Sweet Food Runner-up).
We know that Albertans have an appetite for shopping local, and we’re thrilled to highlight the work of artisans, designers, distillers, bakers, creators and makers across our province. The Made in Alberta box features products from Bragg Creek to Okotoks to Guy, AB and locations in between. Through Uproot, Albertans have even more access to authentically original food brands, so you can be sure you’re getting exceptional local products.
