Micro YYC, a Calgary company that has supplied markets, grocers and restaurants with microgreens for several years, has introduced a new subscription service called The Microgreens Club.

This zero-waste initiative provides Calgarians with healthy, nutrient-dense microgreens delivered to their door in reusable containers. Program enrollment is offered seasonally, with the upcoming fall session featuring six or 12 microgreens deliveries from September to December. The service costs $22 per delivery, as well as a one-time $20 container deposit. The Microgreens Club orders are delivered in reusable plastic containers that are picked up, washed and reused for your next delivery.

Microgreens are an easy way to add a pop of colour and flavour to your dishes at home. Broccoli microgreens taste like the freshest, greenest broccoli you’ve ever had, while radish microgreens have a spicy flavour you would expect from a full-grown radish. Plus, they grow in days and are rich in nutrients.

Deliveries include one small and one large container of microgreens, which may contain greens and shoots such as broccoli microgreens, arugula, red cabbage, sunflower shoots and more.

The club’s inaugural fall session begins September 28 to 30, 2021.
