Few things say “I love you” like a heart-shaped pizza at Alforno on Valentine’s Day. Located just a few blocks away from the south entrance of the Peace Bridge, this romantic eatery will have its full menu available on Valentine’s Day, but who are we kidding — a heart-shaped pizza and dessert sounds like a great pairing to us.

Once again named one of the best restaurants in Calgary by Avenue last year, Alloy is always a reliable, trustworthy option. This year, treat yourself and your significant other to a four-course meal on February 14 or 15. For $85 each, you can choose from two dishes per course, with options like roasted cauliflower bisque, bison tartare, roasted Icelandic cod, passion fruit cheesecake and more.

Located in Fish Creek Provincial Park, Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant offers a romantic dining experience away from the downtown crowds. On Valentine’s Day weekend, there will be a four-course menu featuring options like smoked duck prosciutto, cheese veloute, seared arctic char, gold dusted drunken cherry delight and more. There’s a regular menu for $85 each and a vegan menu for $75 each, both of which will be available from February 14 to 16.

Burwood Distillery is pairing its Valentine’s Day dinner with some of its own locally made spirits. The Eat Drink & Be Mine event has three seatings (5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. or 8:30 p.m.) and features three courses. Tickets are $65 per person and include a welcome drink made with the distillery’s limited edition cherry liqueur and a tasting flight.

This year, Deane House has three deals/dining options on Valentine’s Day. First, the restaurant is offering half-price rosé from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then, there’s the Valentine’s Day tasting menu starting at 4:30 p.m., which is $95 each with the choice to add wine pairings for an additional $50. You can also opt for the Natural Winemaker’s Dinner with Juice Imports. This five-course menu, which is $185 per person and runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., comes with natural wine pairings.

If you’re trying to avoid restaurants on Valentine’s Day, this could be a good option for you. Forage is offering a special dinner of Sunworks Farm organic duck leg confit, whipped potatoes, red kuri squash and salad that you can pick-up and have at home. For an intimate Italian dinner on Valentine’s Day, make a reservation at La Brezza Ristorante. The Bridgeland restaurant is offering a special four-course menu for $50 each. After starting with bruschetta on focaccia, guests will enjoy a caprese salad and choose between roasted chicken, salmon roulade or eggplant parmigiana. A chocolate pate finishes off the meal nicely.
