The Calgary Stampede runs from July 5 to 14 this year. Along with rodeo events and Midway food, that means plenty of Stampede breakfasts.

The Calgary Stampede Caravan holds breakfast events at shopping and recreation centres around the city almost every day of Stampede. You can also check out a more comprehensive list of Stampede breakfast events at

Here are a few breakfasts that caught our eye that you may want to check out this year.


4th Street Stampede Breakfast at Vin Room



When: Thursday, July 4

Where: Vin Room Mission, 2310 4 St. S.W.

Cost: Free

Humans can eat pancakes while their dogs enjoy free treats on the Vin Room patio. Pawsitive Match will be on site selling merchandise and showing off adoptable dogs. Donations are gratefully accepted.


First Flip Pancake Breakfast



When: Thursday, July 4

Where: Stephen Avenue between 1st Street S.E. and Centre Street

This free breakfast will have two stages of live music as well as line dancers, stilt walkers and balloon artists.


Century Calgary Stampede Breakfast



When: Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 14

Where: Century Casino, 1010 42 Ave. S.E.

Cost: $1.99

Century Casino is offering a “Cowboy Breakfast” for dirt cheap every day of Stampede. $1.99 gets you two eggs, baked beans, corn muffins and a beef wiener. This breakfast is open to attendees 18+.


Calgary West Rotary Club Stampede Parade Gourmet Breakfast



When: Friday, July 5

Where: Knoxville’s Tavern Stampede Event Centre, 840 9 Ave. S.W.

Cost: $55

Check a pancake breakfast and the parade off your Stampede to-do list at this event. You’ll enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, berries and cream, eggs, beans and more, plus you can watch the parade from reserved bleacher seating. Proceeds from this breakfast support the Rotary Club’s humanitarian projects.


The Ultimate Stampede Breakfast



When: Saturday, July 6

Where: Tomkins Park, 17th Ave. and 8th St. S.W.

The 17th Avenue S.W. BRZ is offering free breakfast to the first 1000 people to arrive at this event. Following that, there will be games, live music, giveaways and a movie screening.


Chinatown Stampede Breakfast



When: Saturday, July 6

Where: Chinatown, 307 1 St. S.E.

Cost: Free

Enjoy pancakes, sausage and juice while a DJ plays tunes. You can also admire Chinatown’s Stampede Parade float while you eat.


Wendy T’s Gluten Free Stampede Breakfast



When: Saturday, July 6

Where: Marda Loop Community Centre, 3130 16 St. S.W.

Cost: Free for Canadian Celiac Association members and their families or $2 for non-members

If you can’t eat gluten, you can still experience an authentic Stampede breakfast here. Food and cash donations for the Calgary Food Bank are accepted at this breakfast.


Scandinavian Centre Stampede Breakfast



When: Saturday, July 6

Where: Scan Centre, 739 20 Ave. N.W.

Cost: Free

This breakfast has dancing as well as the usual pancakes, sausage and orange juice.


59th Annual CF Chinook Centre Stampede Breakfast



When: Saturday, July 6

Where: Chinook Centre, 6455 Macleod Tr. S.W.

Cost: Free

This breakfast is huge. If you’re only going to one breakfast, and you want it to be a big experience, mark this one in your calendar.


Vegan Pancake Breakfast



When: Saturday, July 6

Where: Bridgeland Riverside Community Association, 917 Centre Ave. N.E.

Cost: Free, donations gratefully accepted online

Vegans can get in on the Stampede breakfast action too at this event. While the menu is still TBA, organizers say there will gluten-friendly options this year.


Chuckwagon Breakfasts



When: Saturday, July 6 to Saturday, July 13 (no breakfast on July 7)

Where: Olympic Plaza, 228 8 Ave. S.E.

Cost: Free

If you miss the first breakfast on July 6, that’s okay. These breakfasts run almost every day of the Calgary Stampede.


Calgary Japanese Community Association Stampede Breakfast



When: Saturday, July 6

Where: Calgary Nikkei Cultural and Senior Centre, 2236 29 St. S.W.

Cost: Free with a food bank donation

Bring some donations for the Calgary Food Bank to this pancake breakfast.


Stampede Breakfast for Dinner



When: Saturday, July 6

Where: New Horizon Mall, 260300 Writing Creek Cres., Rocky View

Cost: Free

Too tuckered to get up in time for a breakfast? This event serves “breakfast” from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with all the carnival games, bouncy castle action and inflatable slide trips your little one can handle.


Agahan Filipino Stampede Breakfast



When: Sunday, July 7

Where: Pacific Hut Parking Lot, 3231 17 Ave. S.E.

Cost: Free

Here, you’ll get to sample traditional Filipino breakfast food and watch live performances.


Stampede Pancake Boozy Breakfast



When: Monday, July 8

Where: Cannibale, 813 1 Ave. N.E.

Cost: $20

Your entry fee to this nighttime event covers breakfast (a collaboration with Blue Star Diner and Dairy Lane Cafe) and a float made with Annex Ales Project root beer. It also funds one meal for a youth in need provided by charitable partner Mealshare.


CF Market Mall Stampede Breakfast



When: Tuesday, July 9

Where: CF Market Mall, 3625 Shaganappi Tr. N.W.

Cost: Free

If you’re a fan of the breakfasts held at CF Chinook Centre, you’ll love its sister event at CF Market Mall. In addition to classic Stampede breakfast fare, there will be live country music and a petting zoo with pony rides for kids.


Bootleggin’ Breakfast 2019



When: Tuesday, July 9 and Thursday, July 11

Where: Westin Calgary, 320 4 Ave. S.W. (July 9) and Calgary Petroleum Club, 319 5 Ave. S.W. (July 11)

Cost: $139 for Tuesday, $125 for Thursday

Tickets include gourmet breakfast, six drink tickets, live music and transportation and entry to the Cowboys tent afterwards. The event supports Zero Hungry Kids.


Minas Stampede Breakfast



When: Wednesday, July 10

Where: Minas Brazilian Steakhouse, 136 2 St. S.W.

Cost: $2 or non-perishable food donation

This fundraiser for the Calgary Food Bank features roasted pork loin, ham, breakfast sausages, scrambled eggs, mini donuts, baiao de doix (Brazilian rice and beans) and more.


Stampede Breakfast at Hy’s Steakhouse



When: Wednesday, July 10

Where: Hy’s Steakhouse, 8 Avenue and 3 Street

Cost: Minimum $5 donation, which will go towards the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society

With its menu of beef hash, eggs, fruit, coffee and more, the Stampede breakfast at Hy’s Steakhouse doesn’t disappoint. This breakfast supports the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society, so make sure to bring a donation. The breakfast runs from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.


Southcentre Pink Stampede Breakfast



When: Wednesday, July 10

Where: Southcentre Mall, 100 Anderson Rd. S.E.

Cost: Free

Wear something pink to this breakfast at Southcentre Mall.


Best of the East Stampede Breakfast



When: Thursday, July 11

Where: Unity Park, 17 Ave. S.E. from 31 Street to 33 Street

Cost: Free

Expect some international dishes at this breakfast, not to mention children’s activities and entertainment.


Repsol Sport Centre Healthy Stampede Breakfast



When: Thursday, July 11

Where: Repsol Sport Centre, 2225 Macleod Tr. S.E. On the north entrance patio or gym 4 if it rains.

Cost: Free

Eat some pancakes, go for a swim. Or vice versa.


Tep-pan-cake Breakfast



When: Thursday, July 11

Where: OMO Teppan & Kitchen, 5222 Macleod Tr. S.W.

Cost: Free

Enjoy green tea and buttermilk pancakes cooked on a Japanese-style grill called a teppan. There will also be live music and a draw to win a Wagyu beef dinner.


Genesis Centre Stampede Breakfast



When: Friday, July 12

Where: Genesis Centre,

Cost: By donation of cash of non-perishable food item

This is another fundraiser for the Calgary Food Bank. It will feature live entertainment including marching bands and country music, plus a petting zoo and pony rides.


Humainologie Free Vegan Breakfast



When: Sunday, July 14

Where: Humainologie Gallery + Store, 1514 7 St. S.W.

Cost: Free

Go vegan on the last day of Stampede with a breakfast of pancakes and fruit. There will also be a chai tasting with Allegory Chai.
