The Play That Goes Wrong

A drama society comes together to put on a murder-mystery production — what could go wrong? The answer, it turns out, is plenty, resulting in a hilarious play-within-a-play to kick off Theatre Calgary’s latest season.

Chinatown Lantern Festival

When: September 13

In addition to its beautiful displays of lights and lanterns, the Chinatown Lantern Festival features local vendors, booths and food trucks. Hosted by Calgary’s Chinatown Business Improvement Association, this festival is free to the public and is sure to delight all of Calgary.

WildDogs International Screendance Festival

When: September 13 to 15

This fifth annual festival showcases international works of dance, movement, image and video, presented online and live, in-theatre from Sept. 13 to 15 at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks.

Easy Days

When: September 14

Head to the RiverWalk in East Village for the final Easy Days event of the year. From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., more than 40 vendors will be on-site selling jewellery, art, apparel and more.

The Calgary Cat Festival and Market

When: September 14 and 15

If you love cats, then this is the event for you. At this two-day festival and market, pet owners and feline enthusiasts can expect cat-focused vendors, cat adoption booths, performances, a jigsaw puzzle competition and more.
