Broken City

The rooftop patio at this popular rock club-watering hole is open whenever the weather is decent, but, once the seasons change and temperatures stay above zero overnight, management opens a dedicated full-service bar (as well as washrooms!) upstairs and the good times really start to roll. Open until 2 a.m. with room for 133 people, 40 per cent of the patio is also covered with heaters to keep late-night revellers warm.

Cannibale

If you haven’t been to Cannibale, you’re missing out. This friendly neighbourhood bar in Bridgeland has a chic outdoor patio space lit up with strings of lights that create a pretty glow. Open until midnight from Sunday to Thursday and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, there’s no shortage of delicious food and fancy cocktails. Enjoy an elevated #sundayfunday with special pricing on beer and select whiskeys.

Hayden Block

Offering daily specials and all meats for half price after 10 p.m., this restaurant has two patios for guests. The street-level patio faces Kensington Road, has heaters and is open late if the weather cooperates. The other patio is in the back and features a retractable roof and heat lamps. This patio is open year round and is always open late.

The Living Room

The roomy street-level patio in front of The Living Room on 17th Avenue S.W. is so prominent, it’s as well known as the restaurant itself. It’s nice to sit on the wood-walled patio any time of the day, but, after dark, when the trees are lit up and the fireplace is going strong, it really comes alive. Plus, the kitchen is open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays for when you need something more sophisticated than late-night pub grub.

Village Ice Cream Victoria Park

After completing some recent patio renovations, Village Ice Cream in Victoria Park has a new extended patio that is perfect for some late-night ice cream runs with your friends. This patio’s bench style seating makes for a homey atmosphere. Since the patio is open until 11 p.m., you still have time to visit nearby restaurants and events before capping off your evening.
