Asia is an enormous continent full of different flavours and cuisines, so many of which come together in perfect harmony at chef Duncan Ly’s relaxed Beltline restaurant. Ly has mastered the art of taking familiar items like Korean beef bulgogi or Vietnamese cha ca la vong and almost magically transforming them into entirely new dishes with iconic Alberta ingredients and flavours and techniques from various parts of Asia. Foreign Concept’s food is complex, playful and always a little bit surprising — and best paired with a cocktail from the bar’s equally innovative selection of sips.
