Calgary has yet another reason to get excited about Italian cuisine.
L’Olivo Cicchetti & Lounge is a new restaurant from Lina’s Group (the group behind the popular Lina’s Italian Market) located beside Lina’s Italian Piazza in Inglewood.
L’Olivo specializes in cicchetti cuisine. The basis behind chicchetti is carefully composed Venetian small plates, but beyond that, cicchetti emphasizes an easy-going, social way of dining.
On the menu, you find plenty of cicchetti dishes that are designed to be shared and experienced together, from crostini with smoked chicken and an apple pecan pesto, to seafood crocchettes with a lime nduja aioli, to shell-on grilled prawns. There are also a few pasta dishes, main dishes and some vegetable sides, but be sure to try at least a few of the shareable small plates this restaurant is known for.
There are also Italian-inspired cocktails and mocktails, local and Italian beers and a small but mighty list of wines.
