Feast on some knowledge at Telus Spark’s new food-themed exhibition, Banquet.
On now until September 2, the immersive exhibition dives into the science, culture and history of food. Designed by La Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in partnership with the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment, the exhibition celebrates the science of gastronomy.
Visitors can expect to learn about things like the physics of food texture or the chemistry of flavour in a variety of live programming. Explore why some food tastes sour or why we crave certain meals through eye-catching installations and multi-sensory experiments. Guests can also learn how culture shapes our flavour palate and the science behind comfort foods. Foodies and science lovers alike will find something to savour at this celebration of food culture.
And while the Banquet exhibit doesn’t feature actual food to eat, those who work up an appetite learning about food can visit Telus Spark’s Spark Eatery or the Astronaut Ice Cream Cafe for some delicious bites. Access to Banquet is included with general admission tickets and Telus Spark memberships.
