Cilantro
Right on 17th Avenue S.W., but cleverly blocked off to create a beautifully private space, Cilantro’s brick-floored ground-level patio and the adjacent veranda off the restaurant’s upstairs lounge are a date-night dream come true. The Virginia creeper-lined walls (the vines turn from green to red over the course of patio season), abundant candles, overhead twinkle lights and seasonally inspired cocktail list create a uniquely romantic ambiance for both day and night.

Rouge
Since the restaurant itself is in a historic house on a residential street in Inglewood, Rouge’s backyard patio feels comfortable and homey, surrounded by the restaurant’s expansive garden, beside the Bow River. The patio itself is covered by a tent to protect diners from the elements (you don’t want a single morsel of that delicious food to blow away), and guests are invited to walk around the garden between courses to extend their dining experience and make room for dessert.

Teatro
Another date-worthy spot that’s right in the heart of the city, but feels like it could be in the middle of the countryside, Teatro’s patio is well-shielded from Olympic Plaza and perfect for a happy-hour cocktail or an intimate dinner for two. With plenty of flower planters and Teatro’s full menu and impressive wine list available, it’s the perfect refuge before or after a show at Arts Commons or a downtown summer stroll.
