Now in its fifth year, Avenue’s Best Dressed List has become a highly anticipated feature for Calgary’s fashion insiders and style watchers. This year, Avenue will celebrate the honourees at an invitation-only gala fittingly taking place amidst the Dior exhibit at Glenbow. Current local fashion figures will celebrate Calgary’s diversifying style surrounded by historical pieces from the first years of Christian Dior’s haute couture work.
With the annual Best Dressed list, we not only celebrate a group of individuals with amazing sartorial style, we also look at the city’s evolving taste and spectrum of personal expression.
The honourees each demonstrate a range of approaches to dressing. They are all people who have clearly spent some time thinking about their personal style and, although they wouldn’t all use those terms to describe it, have a philosophy of fashion that suits their life. They each have a look that is clearly their own.
This year’s Best Dressed List honourees are Cartel Madras, JP Channa, Sean Clancy, David Down, Maya Gohill, Domingo Lumanog, Maha Malik, Aisling Tomei, Sue Anne Valentine, and Cayce and Michele Verlaan.
Profiles and images are on AvenueCalgary.com and in the April 2019 issue of Avenue.
The gala celebration is generously supported by gold sponsor Holt Renfrew, silver sponsors J. Vair Anderson Jewellers, Mercedes-Benz Country Hills and Diva Salonspa, and by venue partner Glenbow.
