Occupation: Vice-president of basketball, Tonbara Sports & Entertainment
Deion Adams always dreamed of a professional basketball career. Within a year of graduating from Ambrose University in 2022, Adams started his own agency and became one of a handful of Canadians eligible to represent NBA players.
Four years later, Tonbara Sports & Entertainment acquired his agency. Today, Adams is its vice-president of basketball, scouting and nurturing players, negotiating endorsement deals and helping college athletes understand their value before turning pro.
He represents 13 players across Europe and the Canadian Elite Basketball League and has had two players make it to the G League, the NBA’s developmental association.
“I always want to put Canadian guys on the map first; that’s always been a priority of mine,” says Adams.
