Jessica Tsang’s desire to help people drove her towards a career in nursing, where she quickly noticed some gaps in the health-care system. In particular, she identified that many patients have physical or psychological barriers preventing them from accessing proper care. In 2017, she founded Direct Health Solutions, a more affordable health-care model involving a mobile clinic and labs administered by a team of nurse practitioners. This smart model is serving patients who might otherwise fall through the cracks by coming straight to them, when and where it is convenient. Tsang says Direct Health Solutions is for people of all backgrounds and socio-economic statuses: “I want to make sure their health concerns are addressed in a compassionate manner that makes sense to them.”
